Last updated: 3 November 2026
1. About this policy
This policy explains how RSC Industries Pty Ltd (ABN 94 703 609 992, ACN 703 609 992) ("RSC Industries", "we", "us" or "our") handles personal information. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) set out in that Act.
It applies to personal information collected through this website, rscindustriestec.site, and in the course of providing our services.
2. What personal information we collect
We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our business activities. This may include:
- your name, email address and the name of your business or organisation;
- details of the work, supplies or project you are enquiring about, including site locations;
- records of our correspondence with you, quotes, scopes of work and invoices;
- billing and payment details needed to complete a transaction; and
- technical information recorded automatically when you visit the website, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act). Please do not send it to us unless we specifically ask for it.
3. How we collect it
We collect most personal information directly from you: when you email us, use the enquiry form on our contact page (which opens an email from your own email program), or deal with us during a job. Technical information is collected automatically by our website hosting provider in server logs. Where we collect information about you from a third party, such as a colleague who refers a job to us, we take reasonable steps to make you aware of it.
4. How we use it
We use personal information for the primary purpose for which it was collected, including to:
- respond to enquiries and prepare quotes or scopes of work;
- supply goods and carry out services;
- issue invoices, receive payments and keep business records;
- maintain and secure our website; and
- meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations.
We will not use your information for a secondary purpose unless you have consented, you would reasonably expect it and it is related to the primary purpose, or the use is otherwise permitted under APP 6. We do not send marketing emails without your consent, and every marketing message will include a way to opt out.
5. Disclosure
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may disclose it to:
- service providers who help us run the business, such as email, website hosting, accounting and payment providers;
- suppliers or subcontractors, only to the extent needed to complete your job;
- our professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers; and
- government bodies or others where required or authorised by law.
6. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers, including our website hosting and email providers, may store or process information on servers located outside Australia. Where this happens we take reasonable steps, consistent with APP 8, to ensure the recipient handles the information in a way that is consistent with the APPs.
7. Cookies
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies and does not set cookies of its own. Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary technical cookies or similar mechanisms to deliver the site securely and protect it from abuse. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; doing so will not stop the site from working.
8. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including restricted access to our email and records and the use of reputable service providers.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above or as required by law, including tax and business record-keeping obligations. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
9. Access and correction
Under APPs 12 and 13 you may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Email your request to [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable time, generally within 30 days. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing, unless it would be unreasonable to do so.
10. Anonymity and pseudonymity
You may make a general enquiry without identifying yourself or by using a pseudonym. To quote for, supply or invoice work, however, we will usually need your name and contact details.
11. Data breaches
If a data breach involving your personal information is likely to result in serious harm, we will assess it promptly and, where the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme applies, notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
12. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the APPs or mishandled your personal information, please email [email protected] with the details. We will acknowledge your complaint, look into it, and respond in writing within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), which can be contacted through its website at www.oaic.gov.au.
13. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page with its "last updated" date.
Privacy questions can be sent to RSC Industries Pty Ltd at [email protected].
